Disney Villains: Unfairy Ever After is a stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios, with some of your favorite villains bursting into our world. Each Character takes a turn telling their sad tale of how they've been misunderstood, and deserve a break... as voted on by the audience applause.
Our team was able to name the show, as well as create the branding, style guide, key visuals, and OOH in partnership with the Disney Live Entertainment team.
Original key art sketch next to the final illustrated poster by Justin Dring.
We also created individual Character posters to represent the three villains who break through their respective mirrors into our realm to relate their sad tales.
For the logo, I explored a wide range of villainous type and shapes to convey the feeling of the show. We landed on a concave shape for highlighting the most important aspect of the show: VILLAINS. By bringing in the shattered mirror motif into the logo through animation, we rounded out the toolkit.
Out of Home
Applying the branding to our OOH, we needed to follow our templates and best practices, but help bring our villains to life in interesting ways. Starting with the key art, we animated motifs from the show to highlight the comical, yet sinister story.
